Welcome to the home of North Andover Booster Club Cheerleading. The NABC Cheerleading Program is open to children

entering grades K-8 in the Fall of 2023

Please note: Each team will be capped based on league rules (varies per age groups) In the event that a team fills, you will be notified and placed on a waitlist. If we have enough children AND a coach we will have an additional team.

Our Program

The NABC Cheerleading program is open to all children who will be in grades K-8 in the fall of 2023 who live in North Andover or attend school in North Andover. Our program aims to teach the fundamentals of cheer through stunting, jumping, dancing and cheering. We belong on the Massachusetts Youth Cheer Alliance (MYCA) and cheer each weekend at either a tackle football game or a flag football game. Our goal is to teach good sportsmanship, team work and commitment to the athletes in our program. Most importantly to HAVE FUN!

Our Teams

The number of teams we have is based on the number of participants enrolled. Cheerleaders are placed on teams based on grade level. There are NO try outs for grades K-4. In the event that we have a large number of children in grades 5 through 8 there may be an evaluation in August to determine teams. Our teams are as follows:

Non-Competitive Recreational Mascots- K and 1st grade:  This team is open to cheerleaders in grades K and 1 and will practice one night a week and cheer and tackle and flag football games throughout the season. No competitions

E Team - 1st and 2nd grade: This team is open to cheerleaders in grades 1 and 2. This team practices two times per week, cheers at tackle and flag football games and competes at 3 competitions

D Team – 3rd and 4th grade: This team is open to cheerleaders in grades 3 and 4. This team practices two times per week, cheers at tackle and flag football games and competes at 3 competitions

C Team – 5th and 6th grade: This team is open to cheerleaders in grades 5 and 6. This team practices two times per week, cheers at football games and competes at 3 competitions

A Team – 7th and 8th grade: This team is open to cheerleaders in grades 7 and 8. This team practices two times per week, cheers at football games and competes at 3 competitions

*We may be adding an addition practice for tumbling (TBD)

Registration Fees

Kindergarten and 1stgrade Recreational/non- compete Team: $85

1stGrade – 8thGrade Competitive Teams - $210

NABC tries desperately to keep registrations fees as low as possible.  The registration fee helps to pay for coaches safety trainings, uniforms (including all bows), competitive fees and equipment needed throughout the season. Our fees are still well below other area programs.

Uniforms

Depending on your child’s team, parents will need to purchase additional personal uniform items. This can include cheerleading sneakers, body suit, and bloomers. If your cheerleader’s previous apparel still fits you will not need to purchase these items.  Purchases will be run through an online webstore.

Cheerleading Top and Bottom as well as pompoms will be issued to each cheerleader. Uniforms are the property of the NABC and must be returned cleaned at the end of the year.  If a uniform is not returned or damaged, families will be responsible for the full cost of the uniform.

Fundraising

Each cheerleader and family will be asked to participate in fundraising to support the NABC Cheer program.  Our fundraising goal is necessary to help purchase equipment, music, and provide the team with a fun banquet at the end of the year. We have had great success in previous years with fundraising which has allowed us to keep registration costs low!

Volunteering

Parent volunteers are needed in the following areas: Adult Coaches, team moms (managing the communication for each squad), fundraising, information gathering (paperwork), banquet, and MYCA competition.  If you are interested in taking an active role in the team this year- please send an e-mail to the co-commissioners.
