Welcome to the home of North Andover Booster Club Field Hockey! 

Exciting news for the '23 fall season! We've been invited to join the newly formed Baystate Youth Field Hockey League, providing more local game opportunities and defined play structure while developing the future of North Andover field hockey! With that comes more exciting competitive play and small changes to our team structures, all for the good & growth of our program and kids.

ONLINE REGISTRATION:

  • 1st-8th grade registration begins around 5/1/23 through 7/1/23; registration after 7/1 is subject to a space-available basis & will incur a $25 late fee (roster spots are limited if registering late). 
  • The field hockey season runs from early September to early November and is open to 2nd-8th graders who attend North Andover schools. 
  • Each new player receives a North Andover Field Hockey reversible tank & returning players can select either a tank or long sleeve shirt. Field hockey skirts are provided to 5th-8th grade and returned at the end of the season.
  • A stick (measuring to the child's hip), field hockey goggles, shin guards, and a mouth guard are required. Sneakers or turf shoes are best for turf play. Cleats are prefered when on grass but not required. More details on equipment below.

1st & 2nd Graders: Field Hockey Academy

The 1st/2nd grade program will consist of a 5-6 week mini season starting Sept. 10th. The NA field hockey academy is designed to introduce the sport of field hockey including basic rules, skills, and game concepts but more importantly, for the players to have fun learning about field hockey.  A practice-only will take place once a week on Sunday mornings at the North Andover High School Upper Turf Field. The final practice schedule will be shared in mid to late August. 

The registration fee for this program is $70.  A $25 late fee applies after 7/1. 

 

3rd & 4th Graders:

The 3rd & 4th grade program will consist of an 9-10 week season with practice starting the week of Sept. 4th & games Sept. 10th.  The season is designed to introduce the sport of field hockey including basic rules, skills and game concepts but more importantly for the players to have fun learning about field hockey.  The 3rd/4th grade team(s) will practice (1) day a week (location TBD) with games (1) day a week typically on Sundays. Games will take place at either the North Andover High School Upper Turf Field or a local opponent's field. The final rosters and practice / game schedule will be shared in mid to late August. 

The registration fee for this program is $125.  A $25 late fee applies after 7/1 and registration is subject to available spots on the roster. 

 

5th & 6th Graders:

The 5th/6th grade program is designed as an instructional program to teach basic skills and get players ready for team play with league games on weekends. Teams will play full field, 11 vs. 11 games. There are (2) practices during the week and (1) game typically on Sundays.  Practices are held at either Drummond Field or the NA high school upper turf. Games are either at the NAHS upper turf or a local opponent's field. Please note the game day & time may fluctuate each week depending on turf availability.  The final rosters and practice/game schedule will be shared in mid to late August. 

The registration fee for this program is $150.  A $25 late fee applies after 7/1 and registration is subject to available spots on the roster. Players will wear a team uniform. 

 

7th and 8th Graders:

The 7th/8th grader program is designed to further develope all levels of players with more advanced play to prepare them for high school competition. The 7/8th graders are broken up into teams based on roster size, skill set, and grade level and play full field 11 vs. 11 games.  There are (2) practices each week with a games typically on Sunday. Practices are held at either Drummond Field or the NAHS upper turf while games are either at the NAHS upper turf or a local opponent's field. Please note the game day & time may fluctuate each week depending on turf availability.  The final rosters and practice / game schedule will be shared in mid to late August.

EQUIPMENT:

NABC provides reversible shirts, goalie equipment, nets, and balls. Players need to provide sticks, mouthguards, regulation field hockey goggles*, and shin-guards.  *Please be sure to have field hockey goggles not lacrosse with an explanation found here (https://www.longstreth.com/field-hockey/legal-field-hockey-goggles.asp).

 

VOLUNTEERS:

Volunteer parent coaches and assistant coaches with field hockey experience are greatly needed.  Please contact our commissioners with questions or if you would like to get involved.
